Yesterday following the morning church service, David and I drove out to see my sister, Beth and her room mate, Rebecca, in Chicago. While we were apprehensive about the drive (traffic can be horrific!) we made good time. There weren't any accidents and being Sunday, no commuters. We ate at a nice Greek resturant not far from where they live. A friend of theirs, Tina, met us there. David and I had Gyros. It was made with well seasoned lamb meat and fresh pita bread. Depsite the fact that he and I shared a plate (as we usually do being that portion sizes are out of control!) we had plenty left over. We left it with Beth and Rebecca as they are moving and have most every thing packed up. I, of course, forgot out digital camera so I wasn't able to get pictures. =-( I am sure that we'll be back though! Their new place is only about 5 houses down the same street and much roomier and in tons better condition. Both bedrooms are a nice size (in their old apartment Rebecca's room was really tiny, hardly fitting her double bed.) The floors are hard wood and either new or newly polished. All the kitchen appliances are also new. It's a beautiful place and they should be mostly moved in by this evening. They'll have to clean the old place but other than that I think that they're out. David was put to work taking apart Beth IKEA bed. It's one of those steel frame beds that is elevated about 5.5 feet or so. Maybe 6 I'm not sure. He also had the privaledge of disconnecting and reconnecting their TV and accesories. We hand carried a few things over but they decided to hire movers for this move so we didn't do too much. Although we got home at about 8 I felt tired this morning. David's taking classes at work and since they provide breakfast and lunch I stayed in bed while he showered and got ready to leave. He ate with the guys this morning. We usually eat breakfast together but I am working on Tuesdays and Thursdays so being that today was Monday... well, I lounged around did laundry and grocery shopping... that kind of thing. I've got ribs in the crock pot that I am looking forward to having for supper! Well, there's the dryer. Another load to fold!
