BAMBOO FLOORS!

I successfully graduated with my desired 4.0 for the semester. We were both proud of our accomplishment - because let's face it when one spouse is in school the other is making sacrifices as well!

Upon graduation we again picked up the process of installing our bamboo flooring.

First: While David was at work I relocated our weight room to the garage:

Second: We relocated our bedroom to the weight room.

Third: We spent an evening ripping out all the carpet and padding from our Master Bedroom. The next day while David was at work I ripped out the closet carpeting and padding and started the prep work for leveling the concrete.

Fourth: David ground down the high spots of concrete. Then we mixed up a leveling agent and filled in the low spots. (Not pictured)

Fifth: We spread out the sealant that prevents moisture from effecting our new flooring. This took the better part of a day. (Picture is of sealant with a small "walkway" to our closet so we could keep the traffic down while laying the bamboo in the closet.)

Sixth: David measured and cut all the boards for the closet. A friend came over and alleviated me of my duties as assistant. And the men finished the closet and about half of the bedroom.

Seventh: David and I worked a couple of hours to finish the bedroom.

David cutting the last few boards for our bedroom using the saw his Grand Dad gave him.

All of the bamboo has been placed and glued down. We taped the boards to help keep them stay together as the glue dried.

Eighth: The long process of clean up. Amazing how much junk gets spread about the house while installing new flooring. We cleaned up everything because this project is on hold for two weeks while we attend and participate in weddings. Next we will install flooring in our living room. Until then we are in our temporary bedroom with the bamboo piled high in the guest room and our room out of service. =) (other pics can be seen: HERE)
