IT'S ELECTRIC!
(We now have our electricity functioning but as of 8am we still had no internet service at home.)

Yesterday I got home from work and our friends were over visiting with David. The four of us went to dinner at the local Mexican joint, Marios. A very limited menu was available and tables had been set up outside on the sidewalks and in the parking lot. The restaurant was extremely hot as the A/C wasn't running and they were cooking up a storm but it was cool and pleasant in the parking slot our table was located in. We had a nice dinner, then headed to our church for the prayer service. The church is still without power but we held a worship service in the foyer with the doors open and the breezes flowing. It was very nice.

When we got home we decided we were going to play a card game. We were getting things set up (battery powered lantern) when we heard a beeping. I thought it was the smoke alarm letting us know the battery was low. Great, just another annoying inconvenience. Batteries are impossible to come by. Then we noticed a few other things. And realized that WE HAD ELECTRICITY!! Our friends, however, do not. There are still many, many people without electricity so we are very thankful. I was able to run two loads of laundry and offer up our appliances to our friends without electricity.

We don't have internet service at home so I am once again writing from the office. Also, cell phone service is still sketchy.
