Pizza night. On Friday, despite feeling a bit under the weather, I made good on making a thin crust pizza out of the dough I froze a week or so ago when I made cal-zones for dinner. David loves thin crust pizza so we browned some sausage and shredded some cheese and made a delicious pizza. (David added olives to "his" 1/2 although there were 8 pieces of pizza and he ate 6 so "his" 1/2 was more like "his" 3/4.) The thing about thin crust is that it's not as filling. Anyway it turned out wonderful but David really loves the cal-zones.

This morning I made these "sweet Pecan Twists". Kind of like biscuit dough rolled flat with a tad of brown sugar sprinkled on it, topped with finely chopped pecans. Then you fold the dough in 1/2 and slice into 1 inch thick strips. A twist of the dough puts part of the cut side up and the brown sugar/pecan mix in view. It was a tasty addition to our cereal this morning.

Tonight we're having our friends over for dinner and games. I found a package of ribs in the freezer so I threw 'em in the crock pot, lightly seasoned with misc things like garlic and paprika and pepper. We'll serve it with mashed potatoes and baked beans. I'm enjoying being home for all the time I have to cook!! I'm in the middle of baking bread.... mmmm. We haven't had home made bread in several months because of the ridiculous temperature in Houston. Too hot to run an oven for 45 mins at 450 degrees!

David's out rolling around under his pickup with Scratch for company. Sunshine bailed on me to chase squirrels in the yard.
