Nearly a month

I recognize it's been nearly a month since I posted. Deepest apologies. School has been keeping me really, really, really busy. We are down to the last three weeks of classes. Then finals.

David and I were invited by good friends to join them for a weekend in Galveston at their family beach house. We went on our first vacation in nearly two years. We even left the dogs behind. It was spectacular. A little short but it was Easter weekend and I'm still in class! David went crabbing and fishing with the guys and we girls drove on the beach and investigated the damage by Ike. Over all Galveston looks great. There were a few houses that were missing an entire wall and as we drove by we could see beds, linens, closets and dressers open with clothing still in them. Very odd looking indeed. There were four couples and one 5 week old baby. We cooked together and enjoyed hanging out and relaxing for a couple of days. We can't thank our friends enough for the much needed get away.

Scratch and Sunny were cared for by our neighbor Janice. She recently lost her own dog to old age/cancer but has the same philosophies about doggie care. Walks, discipline and structure. She was even able to handle Sunny well - Sunny needs someone that can take control of the situation and keep her in line. She's a great dog but given the chance, she'll run all over a person.

Other than that little trip (that was BIG to us) we have been riding low, hanging at the house. We have been enjoying the beautiful weather, we often gather in a neighbors drive way to hang out and often we do neighbor hood meals. It's a chaotic mix of dogs, kids, adults and random friends. We always enjoy sharing a meal and hanging out with our neighbors.
