A quick picture of David's plant. I snapped this as we headed there at about 6:20 am last month. Now, with the time change, it's sometimes light by the time he arrives for work and there's some times a little bit of daylight left when he gets home at night.

David has only a few more days here. He and I should be pulling out of here on Wednesday April 26th or Thursday April 27th. We are very much looking forward to our move.

I am working on enrolling in a few classes at a community college near where we will be living. http://www.waubonsee.edu

We have been visiting apartments via the internet. We have been advised to live on the outskirts of Aurora, IL or in Naperville, IL. David will have about a 20 min drive to work from either location. The rent is really high in that area! We are looking at apartments very simelear to the one we resided in while we were in Houston. For the same ammenities and size apartments it's nearly twice the rent. I know that the cost of living in TX is quite a bit less than most places but I was still disgusted. One of the apartments we've had our eye on is Fox Valley Villages http://www.foxvalleyvillages.com. Several of the apartments refuse to sign leases that are for less than 12 months at this time of year (leases that are for 6 -9 months have the leasee's leaving in the dead of winter, apartment complexes slowest season) so we've really had our choices narrowed to a just a few properties. As CB&I is putting us up in a hotel for a few days upon arrival we have decided not to make any decisions until we can see the properties and locations in person.

We'll have about a 16 hour drive. http://www.randmcnally.com/rmc/directions/dirGetDirections.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0405007508.1145804877@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccdaddhhhmdldkcefecggfdffhdgng.0&cmty=0

We intend to take it in two days. And arrive in Joilet, IL (this is the city where the hotel is located.) on Friday or Saturday, depending on date of departure. We would really like to get in on Thursday so we have time on Friday to check out apartments. While most of the leasing offices are open on Saturday and Sundays they are much shorter hours.

So that's that for now. I'm in the middle of organizing and packing. We're really looking forward to a nice apartment with a working stove top and an oven. It'll be nice to be up North again and out of this steamy swamp. It's about 10am here and 80 degrees. It'll probably be over 90 by this afternoon. Anyway, gotta run if I am going to make it to church.
