Well, well, well. David and I are STILL in Pierre Part, LA. We are getting rather anxious about being on our way. David's worked another couple of weeks with out a day off. I don't work his hours but I usually get up with him in the morning and go to bed with him in the evenings so I keep the same basic schedule. We are tired of 5 am mornings. This morning I went back to bed for an hour or so. I feel a little guilty because David can't do that but he says I should. So, we have had several different dates for David's last day. We heard that CB&I weren't paying the rent on our little kaddy shack for the month of May so we need to be out by tomorrow, being the last day in April. So either way we won't be in Pierre Part tomorrow morning. We may be in Gonzales or Baton Rouge but not Pierre Part. We hope that Beau just says to leave for good. David was going to give him an ultimatium of sorts. Paying another month of rent on our little shack, or finding us a room elsewhere and having tomorrow off to move or just letting us go. I am not real comfortable hauling our trailer, especially not over the Sunshine bridge ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshine_Bridge and http://terraserver-usa.com/image.aspx?s=11&lat=30.09912&lon=-90.91416&w=2 ) because it's pretty steep and what not.

Since we are nearly out of food (we have been eating the fridge and panteries empty in anticipation of our departure and have a few sweet potatoes and some pasta) I am taking David lunch. Yea! I enjoy seeing him during the day. It's kind of a ridiculous waste of gas but we enjoy the short dates.

Last night my nieghbor stopped by. They were having a crayfish boil. So I spent a couple of hours with the folks on the other side of our shack. They are really nice. Crystal is about 27 and EJ is 31 or so. Closer to our age and with out grandkids. They have two kids. The nieghbors on the other side of them were there too. They are in their late 30's with one kid. The crayfish was good. They too boiled potatoes, corn and onions in with the creep crawlies. And they threw in a few hotdogs for good measure. Rather than dish up they spread newspapers on a table out back. Then dumped the whole mess on top and we all dug in. David came home towards the end of it all. Apparently I stunk. While freshly showered and having a nice personal smell, David didn't really enjoy the smell of the crayfish. Spoil sport. I put a frozed pizza (we don't usually even have those in the house but it's cheap and doesn't require pots and pans during this we are going to move eventually state of living) in the toaster oven for him and we left the nieghbors pretty quick. Poor guy. He was exhausted and aside from the smell he didn't like the idea of working that hard for supper. It is kind of alot of work, but it leaves time for chatting and it's a good way to get to know the folks. They were really nice. Crystal felt badly that we hadn't done anything together since we've been here but I don't. I know how busy her kids keep her.

Anyway, I should probably get going. I was nearly through packing up the kitchen last night when that blessed distraction arrived. I want to wrap that up before I see my sexy husband. Plus, we hope to actually LEAVE tomorrow. We shall see.
