David and I LEFT Pierre Part at about 5:30am on Monday May 1. We have been getting up at 5am nearly every day since we arrived in Pierre Part in late January so we figured we may as well get on the road bright and early. We drove about 10 hours on Monday and stayed in a Best Western in Ullin, IL. Or some place like that. We got up at 5am on Tuesday and hit the road again. We stopped for CrackerBarrel breakfast at about 6:30 we were back on the road again by 7. We arrived at the hotel in Romeoville, IL at about 1pm only to be told that they'd been over booked and we were to go else where. So we got back in our trucks and drove another 15 mins to land in Darrien, IL. Once we got settled in we hit the apartment trail. David was in this area shortly after being hired on with CB&I so he was somewhat familiar with the area. We ate at a Carrabas. And slept a really great nights rest.

I got up with David then went back to bed for a bit. We get to sleep in until 5:30 at this job! I'm finally starting to get over this junk David brought home a week and a 1/2 or so ago. It's the snotty nose, sore throat, achy body number. It has not been fun. I started feeling yucky about a week ago but with the packing and cleaning and driving and climate change it's taken a while but my nose is down to a slow trickle and my throat is no longer sore and the pressure in my chest is nearly gone. So things are looking up. Although it would be OK with me if we were in a hotel a while longer. I'm still kinda tired (I didn't, however, go back to bed this morning after I kissed David good bye). I'm not looking forward to cleaning and arranging a new apartment. If we can get in on a weekend, however, David will be around to help.

I've started the search for a job. I've located two temp services that I will probably visit tomorrow (Friday May 5). I wanted to get in earlier but I haven't felt up to it. The junk in my head makes me a little spacey feeling. Just what I need to go into a new job with. So if all goes well David and I will begin settling into a new apartment and new routine next week. Just in time to go down to KS and visit with his family. His grandfather is having a Birthday on the 28th so there will be a party that weekend.

Anyway that's enough for now. The bayou wasn't so terrible it was the living conditions. It is nice to see real trees and flowers and things though.
